Model Child thinks that travelling will harm young minds, thinking children will be left at home, “children are perhaps left with domestics, or strangers; their health and morals…under very uncertain influence;”. She gives a strong opinion that “uncertain influence” will affect their children, making the reader fearful. “strangers” separated by a comma and semi-colon emphasises this fear. Whereas, Walker shows an open, fearless attitude that travelling is good for families with her opinion, “going away… can give you distance and perhaps even make you realise how important these people are” The word “distance” is a positive imagery word to show that families will be mentally closer with distance and travel.
