Engineered Lumber

Oriented Strand Board (OSB) OSB is manufactured from waterproof heat-cured adhesives and rectangular shaped wood strands that are arranged in cross-oriented layers, similar to plywood. Produced in huge, continuous mats, OSB is a solid panel product of consistent quality with no laps, gaps or voids.

OSB Applications OSB is widely used in residential and commercial construction Also innovative features such as a slip-resistant texture to panels designed for roof sheathing can be added. Benefits OSB panels can be manufactured from a wide range of fast-growing species and from relatively small trees. utilizes a maximum amount of wood fiber from each tree that is harvested

Plywood Manufactured from thin sheets of cross-laminated veneer (To overlay or plate with a thin layer of wood ) bonded under heat and pressure with strong adhesives,.

Plywood A Wide Range of Products available in different grades ranging from smooth, natural surfaces suitable for finish work also commonly used for wall sheathing and subfloors. More than a dozen common thickness Over twenty different grades

LVL (Laminated Veneer Lumber) Laminated veneer lumber (LVL) is an engineered wood product created by layering dried and graded wood veneers with waterproof adhesive into blocks of material known as billets. Cured in a heated press,

LVL The grain of each layer of veneer runs in the same direction, rather than cross-lamination which is typical of other engineered wood products such as plywood. Benefits The resulting parallel-laminated lumber out-performs conventional lumber LVL is a solid, highly predictable and uniform engineered wood product that is sawn to consistent sizes. Is virtually free from warping and splitting. Strong, Reliable and Consistent gluing process enables large timbers to be made from relatively small trees of many species.

I-Joists "I"-shaped engineered wood structural members offer strength, versatility Used in residential and light commercial applications. I-joists are comprised of top and bottom flanges of various widths, united with webs of various depths. The flanges resist common bending stresses, and the web provides uniform stability.

I-Joists What they can be made of Benefits I-joists can be manufactured using solid sawn lumber or structural composite lumber for the flange components Plywood or oriented strand board can be used for the web. Benefits They are ideal for long spans Readily available from most builder supply sources Strength and versatility

Glued Laminated Timber (Glulam) Glulam (Glued laminated timber) is a stress-rated engineered wood product comprised of wood laminations, that are bonded together with strong, waterproof adhesives.

Glued Laminated Timber Used in residential construction to large commercial projects Glulam has greater strength and stiffness than comparable dimensional lumber. Benefits competitive cost Pound for pound, it’s stronger than steel. glulam beams can span long distances with minimal need for intermediate supports. Flexibility with design Glulam components can be a variety of species,

Timberstrand Timberstrand LSL (Laminated Strand Lumber) Made of fast-growing aspen and yellow poplar Used for a broad range of applications, such as Rim Board, window headers, wall studs and door headers.

Timberstrand Benefits Timberstrand Wall Studs are second to none in quality and dimensional uniformity. Used often in areas of visual importance like family rooms with tall walls, kitchens and hallways.  Engineered studs are available in many conventional sizes and even long lengths for tall walls. Benefits resists swelling from air-moisture level changes Comes in wide variety of sizes Great in all weather conditions

Particleboard is made from wood particles, which are often the residue from other wood processing operations, combined under heat and pressure with a water resistant binder.

Particleboard Benefits additives can be incorporated to provide greater dimensional stability Widely used in the manufacturing of furniture, cabinets, floor underlayment, laminate flooring, stair treads, shelving and many other products. Benefits Today's particleboard gives industrial users the consistent quality and design flexibility needed for fast, efficient production lines Particleboard panels are manufactured in a variety of sizes and densities

Environmental Benefits of Engineered Lumber Efficient because they utilize more of the available resources with minimal waste. Produced using faster growing and underutilized wood species from managed forests, Reduce the industry's reliance on Old-Growth forests.
