Energy and Electromagnetism Jeopardy Lightbulbs Circuits Examples 100 100 100 200 200 200 300 300 300 400 400 400 500 500 500

Lightbulbs 100 What kind of bulb have we been using in class? Incandescent lightbulbs

Lightbulbs 200 How many contact points are there on a lightbulb? Two

Lightbulbs 300 What part inside of the lightbulb lights up? The filament

Lightbulbs 400 Who invented the lightbulb? Thomas Edison

Lightbulbs 500 What are the names for the two contact points on a lightbulb? Casing wire Base

Circuits 100 What is this called and what does it do? A switch. It allows the electricity to flow.

Circuits 200 What kind of circuit is this? A series circuit.

Circuits 300 What kind of circuit is this? A parallel circuit.

Circuits 400 Will this circuit light? Yes because the wires are each touching a positive and negative side of the batteries and the electricity can flow through the circuit.

Circuits 500 There are two types of circuits, what are they and which will light a lightbulb? Closed and open circuits. Closed circuits light the lightbulb.

Examples 100 Will this lightbulb light? Explain. No because there is not wire touching the second contact point(casing wire), they are both touching the base.

Examples 200 Will this lightbulb light? Explain. Yes because the wire is touching both contact points, the casing wire on the side and the base on the bottom.

Examples 300 Will this motor run? No because only one wire is touching the battery. The other wire is not touching the positive side fully and the circuit is not complete or closed.

Examples 400 What was this tool that we used when we went outside? Solar Cell

Examples 500 Will this circuit light the lightbulb? Explain. No because the switch is open and it needs to be closed for the electricity to flow.
