Effective communication Communication is about more than just exchanging information. It's about understanding the emotion and intentions behind the information. Effective communication is also a two-way street.  2015- GIDEON DOGBEY

Effective communication It’s not only how you convey a message so that it is received and understood by someone in exactly the way you intended, it’s also how you listen to gain the full meaning of what’s being said and to make the other person feel heard and understood.  2015- GIDEON DOGBEY

Effective communication More than just the words you use, effective communication combines a set of skills including nonverbal communication, engaged listening, managing stress in the moment, the ability to communicate assertively, and the capacity to recognize and understand your own emotions and those of the person you’re communicating with.  2015- GIDEON DOGBEY

Effective communication It is the glue that helps you deepen your connections to others and improve teamwork, decision making, and problem solving. It enables you to communicate even negative or difficult messages without creating conflict or destroying trust.  2015- GIDEON DOGBEY

Skills needed for an effective communication Identify the Right Medium; know what form of communication to use. Listening; involves paying close attention to what the other person is saying, asking clarifying questions, and rephrasing what the person says to ensure understanding. Nonverbal Communication; A relaxed, open stance (arms open, legs relaxed), and a friendly tone will make you appear approachable, and will encourage others to speak openly with you.  2015- GIDEON DOGBEY

Skills needed for an effective communication Clarity and Concision; convey your message in as few words as possible and say what you want clearly and directly, whether you're speaking to someone in person, on the phone, or via email Friendliness; friendly tone, a personal question, or simply a smile Confidence; confidence ensures your co-workers that you believe in and will follow through with what you are saying  2015- GIDEON DOGBEY

Skills needed for an effective communication Open-Mindedness; be open to listening to and understanding the other person's point of view, rather than simply getting your message across. Respect; simple actions like using a person's name, making eye contact, and actively listening when a person speaks will make the person feel appreciated. On the phone, avoid distractions and stay focused on the conversation  2015- GIDEON DOGBEY

Skills needed for an effective communication Feedback; look for ways to provide employees with constructive feedback, be it through email, phone calls, or weekly status updates. Giving feedback involves giving praise as well Empathy; it is important for you to understand and respect their point of view  2015- GIDEON DOGBEY

Attracting audience to accept your message Identify the root cause of the problem. Observe the listening more and speaking less. Have empathy Analyse and tackle the issue confidently with facts not arguments. Provide constructive solution to problem identified.  2015- GIDEON DOGBEY
