Agenda today Introduction Status – where are we now? Leaflet TWG III for seminar Detailed presentation by the tech. teams Focus on scenario’s! Work plan till first draft 1st of September 18-1-2019

Work plan established in Mataram Jan Feb Mar Apr May Jun Jul Establish EE options   Calculate potential savings Initial barrier analysis Regional Barrier analysis Scenario development Link to TWG I 18-1-2019

What does that mean for today? NPV calculations should all be completed We need to conclude how we will create scenarios What needs to be done by ECN in the coming months? Questions regarding the outline 18-1-2019

Outline one pager Aim of TWG III Gaps in current EE policy in Indonesia Main point is the lack of quantitative data How does TWG III aim to contribute ? Methodology: project based approach (NPV, PBP) top down quantitative Results so far and how are they grouped? Promising, but not all advantages are for end users Grouping (from outline): Low or no cost measures with a payback period within 1 year Medium term measures with a pay-back within 1-5 years. Long-term strategies (capacity building, appliance labelling, energy management services) 18-1-2019

Outline one pager Conclusion: TWG III shows that the EE potential is very large Some EE measures have end-user benefit, some public Policy is sometimes needed to exploit these benefits Large regional differences justifies the need for regional EE policy! 18-1-2019

What does that mean for today? NPV calculations should all be completed We need to conclude how we will create scenarios What needs to be done by ECN in the coming months? Questions regarding the outline 18-1-2019

NPV calculations should all be completed This is not always the case… Remember that this represents the return of an investment for one intervention, compared to business as usual. So make sure when to use it Not for reducing time in HH or business Use to show the costs of awareness campaign Consider these options as if you are a business You need to make profit! 18-1-2019

We need to conclude how we will create scenarios There is a difference between penetration and policy scenario Try to consider why you choose these percentages. Income group? Potential – related to what has already been done. 18-1-2019

What needs to be done by ECN in the coming months? Calculations and scenarios need to be completely checked This means a thorough analysis of why, how and who? Send to me by 1st of August Report writing drafts are present in some groups First draft by 1st of August To be returned by mid-August Draft for seminar by mid-September 18-1-2019
