Food Glorious Food Pancake Day Nursery Spring 1 – Week 5 In SEAL we will be reviewing our long term goals on our footballs. Have we achieved them? What helped us achieve them? We will also be setting new goals for those children who have achieved. Personal, Social, Emotional Development Physical Development In PE we will carry on with our new PE scheme. This week we will be going into the Army were the children will learn how to climb on and off equipment with control and safely. We will continue with our Dough Gym this week, this is where the children do different exercises to music to strengthen their fine motor and gross motor movements. The children will use their fine motor skills to whisk together the ingredients needed to make the pancake mix. The children will be using their imagination and language re creating roles in the kitchen area. They will have bowls, spoons, whisks, jugs, plates, frying pans for the children to play at making pancakes and tossing them! They will be listening to each others ideas. On the creative children they will be cutting out shapes, naming them and describing them. Expressive Arts and Design Food Glorious Food Pancake Day Nursery Spring 1 – Week 5 Phonics The children will revisit Phase 1. This week we will be looking and listening at words that rhyme. Communication & Language Literacy The children will hear why we have Pancake day and we will read the story of ‘The Runaway Pancake’. The children will also help to make pancake batter by following the instructions. We will be tasting ready made pancakes, choosing our toppings. The children will be looking at 2d shapes especially the circle. They will be thinking of words to describe the shapes and looking for the same shapes in the environment. The new children will be learning all about Fiona Five in Ten Town. Mathematics
