GEMO - TEC SOLAR COMPANIES REPRESENTED

- Founded in Research and development of new technologies and marketing strategies for photovoltaic energy systems - Worldwide patents on NICE Technology (New Industrial Cells Encapsulation)

Wafer Cell Module /Wp 2010 Wafer Cell Module NICE PHOTOSIL With the potential for 2013 to have an industrial solution for a ready to use photovoltaic system at 1.0 /Wp, including the depreciation of investment (estimated at 30% to todays standard). Roof integration Roof integration SOLARCLIP APOLLON SOLARs projects are focused on the three largest cost contributors

-founded in expert in manufacturing of automatic production equipment & lines -manufacturer of the SMAL (Solar Module Assembly Line) based on NICE technology

SMAL SOLAR MODULE ASSEMBLY LINE NICE TECHNOLOGY Technical documentation available SMAL 20 (20 to 25 MWp/year) 1 module every 4 min SMAL 40 (41 to 50 MWp/year) 1 module every 2 min SMAL 100 (92 to 100 MWp/year) 1 module per min

Station for sealing deposition Pick & Place stations for ribbons and cells Busbar deposition station Module press at Vincent Industrie in Vourles (near Lyon) Station for gluing

WHY CHOOSING OUR TECHNOLOGY ?

Objectives 30% direct cost reduction of module manufacturing at least (for similar components). Only 4 operators per shift. (4 times less than the other systems) Cycle time reduction per module from >10 min (EVA) to 2 min (NICE fully automatic 50 MW line) New sealing process and material for improved humidity tightness. Stable long term module performance for more than 30 years. Fully recyclable modules. 3 times less footprint

Edge sealing by PIB (Poly Iso Butylen) known from insulation glass industry Suppression of EVA lamination Suppression of cell / interconnector soldering Glue fixation of solar cells and metal interconnectors Under pressure inside module to assure electrical series connection

EVA (Ethylene-Vinyl Acetate) Glass Tedlar Cell Weld contacts

Cell Pressed contacts Glass

Glue deposition Cells and connectors placement Placement of external connectors Placement of module busbars Placement of front glass + transport of assembly to press for nitrogen flooding and creation of underpressure Pressing of assembly Deposition of sealing Placement of rear sheet Deposition of secondary sealing

µ-cracks and solder problems in laminated modules Impact of 600 Thermal Cycles from -40°C to +85°C

Optimized underpressure: hardly no cracks, no solder problem and no contact disconnection at high temperature Impact of 600 Thermal Cycles from -40°C to +85°C

Power degradation < 3% after 1000 thermal cycles Power degradation after 200 thermal cycles and 1000 h damp heat test average : 0,1% Great stability of electrical parameters Impact of Thermal Cycling test (-40°C / 85°C)

The NICE process is ready for mass module production 2 lines 25 MW are already built by the company Vincent Industrie (Brignais, France). Some other lines of 25, 50 MW and 100 MW were ordered. Certification NICE modules have validated IEC and IEC normes in June 2010 (TÜV Rheinland) and also in December 2011 Our R&D team are currently focused on : Yield and productivity of the industrial lines. IEC module certification of the industrial lines and new components. Using the NICE technology with various cell concepts and types (rear contacts, bifacial cells, thin films…).
