Improving Green Operations – Using BioPreferred to Serve and Clean Green Jim Evanoff Environmental Protection Specialist Yellowstone National Park

Yellowstone National Park is the worlds first national park, created by an act of Congress in The park contains the largest concentration of geo-thermal features in the world, as well as the largest Bison and Elk herds in the world.

The park is surrounded by six national forests. This 18 million-acre land mass is the last intact ecosystem left in the world.

Yellowstone experiences over 3 million visitors annually. This equates to over one million vehicles entering into the park every year.

Yellowstone experiences over 2,000 earthquakes every year. Uniqueness of the park:

In 1916, the first automobiles entered the park…

Yellowstones Environmental Program Today: We are addressing the critical importance of preserving and protecting this national treasure through: -- Use of biodiesel in all vehicles -- Biobased cleaning and janitorial products -- Biobased lubricants/solvents -- Renewable energy successes -- Water-conservation initiatives -- Green procurement programs -- Green transportation
