Sutter Beauty College offers a full time Cosmetology course. This course is 1600 clock hours in length. Our hours are from 8am to 6 pm. We will discuss the different types of enrollment a little later. We pride ourselves on providing a solid education in the Cosmetology field. Not only do we prepare you for your state board exam, but we give you up date training on the latest trends. We offer salon services to the public at discounted rates so our students can get the experience they need working in a salon environment and learning the skills needed for dealing with clientele. Yuba College: Sutter Beauty College Registration Fee:$100 non refundable Kit Fee:$600 non refundable Monthly Lab fees: $250 *** Registration with Yuba College is the responsibility of the student. Per unit fee $46 x 40 units =$1920 Can be paid per module or per semester. Students may apply for the California BOGW fee waiver. This will cover registration fees to Yuba College only. Private Pay: Registration Fee:$100 non refundable Kit Fee:$615 non refundable Books$285 Tuition:$10,000 Student Tuition Recovery Fund $5.50 Total Fees:$11, Down payment $ Payment arrangements are available. When a student applies and is approved for a Pell Grant through the Department of Education, the student can use this funding to help pay for his/her tuition, books, kit and other fees for school. In some cases, the funds received are enough to cover all expenses, minus the registration fee, for attending. There may be some cases when the funding is not going to cover all expenses for this course. Each class will have different outcomes. Pell Grant Funding

IF YOU ARE UNDER THE AGE OF 24 THEN YOU WILL BE CONSIDERED A DEPENDANT AND WILL NEED YOUR PARENTS TAX INFORMATION TO COMPLETE THE APPLICATION. Students who wish to apply to Sutter Beauty College must provide the following items. 1.Government issued Photo I.D. Card 2.High School Diploma/G.E.D 3.Social Security Card Student must provide SBC with these items at time of scheduled entrance exam. Student must pass exam with a 60% or better. Students registering through Yuba College must meet their requirements and must have completed at least the 10 th grade. Enrollment Requirements

Class Schedules We offer 2 different schedules for our Cosmetology students. Monday – Wednesday 8am – 6pm Thursday – Saturday 8am – 6pm All students are given 1 hour lunch and two 20 minute breaks. Classes are on first come first serve basis. Deposit is required to reserve spot in specific class.

2014 Schedule Changes Starting January 2014 our new schedule will be as follows: Monday – Friday 8:30am – 4pm Makeup time will be available from 4-5 pm.

Freshman ClassSenior Class The second phase of your education. In the Senior class you will be given 2 hours of theory every day. This will either be in lecture or hands on classes. In theory lecture class you will be given homework and an exam every week. Every week we also do State Board practical mock exams as a group. The rest of the day is spent gaining experience in our student salon. You will begin your exciting career as a Cosmetologist at this point. You will begin to establish yourself as a professional and your clientele. The first 200 hours that you attend our institution you will be in Freshman class. During this time you will be introduced to the basic instruction of Cosmetology. At the end of your Freshman class you will be given a final. This final has two parts. A written exam and a hands on exam. You are required to get a passing score on both before you will graduate to the floor. This is the first phase of your education. Course Breakdown

Each student must complete 1600 hours of technical instruction. The student must meet all State requirements for Hours of Theory and Operations. Once the student has completed all required hours, he/she will receive a diploma and their Proof of Training document will forwarded to State Board. Graduation Requirements

AbsencesTardiness Class schedule starts at 8 am. At 8:15 you will be considered tardy. Multiple tardiness will result in write ups and possible termination from program. Dress Code You are expected to be in dress code at all times while clocked in and on campus. Business casual is expected. Pants will be black, shirt must be solid black and shoes must be solid black or white closed toed. No faded clothing or holes in attire is permitted. Absolutely no sagging. Pants must be up at waist level at all times. Facial piercings are allowed, however the limit is one and must be a stud, no hoops. Sutter Beauty College maintains a strict attendance policy. Maximum 10 days excused. (i.e. jury duty, Dr. Note, Death in the family, etc) Maximum unexcused absences are limited to 10. Leaving early and showing up late will accumulate and add up to a full day if your not careful. The maximum hours a student can be absent is 140. Maintaining Enrollment

Student Competition's Sutter Beauty College prides itself on its outstanding student participation in Northern California Competitions. In this photo our students took first place in the fantasy competition in Santa Cruz. We encourage our students to show their creativity and have a good time.

Testing Entrance exam testing is available Monday – Friday from 8:30am-3pm. You must provide school with copies of required identification at time of testing. Diploma/GED, I.D., Social Security Card. $25 test fee due at time of exam. This is a one time fee.
