Historical Fiction What was it like in olden days?

What is historical fiction? Simply put, it is a story set in the past. The setting is usually real and is from a historical event or time period. Often, the story contains actual historical people, but the principal characters tend to be fictional. The writer is attempting to capture the manners and social conditions of the time period. Details of the time or historical event are also very important. Point of view in the story may be different from most historical textbook accounts.
