The Pañacocha Protected Forest (56.ooo ha), is central to the critical system of protected areas in Northwestern Amazonia. Pañacocha is an important Biological corridor uniting the Yasuni National Park and the Cuyabeno Wildlife Reserve

The Pañacocha Protected forest is recognized for an extremely high diversity of bird species. More than 550 species of birds have been observed in the intact forest and along the easily accessible banks of the black-water Pañayacu river and Pañacocha lagoon.

The Yuturi Conservation Group, Pañacocha Foundation and San Carlos Foundation, are working together to help the implement the conservation measures of the Management Plan for the Pañacocha Protected Forest.

The Amazon Dolphin Lodge was one of the first ecotourism lodges in the Ecuadorian Amazon because of its incomparable beauty. The Amazon Dolphin Lodge has been rebuilt on this world-class site and now offerts this beauty with all the conforts of a first rate eco lodge
