Hera

Marriage (婚姻) HERA (HEE-ruh; Roman name Juno) was the goddess of marriage.

Queen皇后 Hera was the wife of Zeus and Queen of the Olympians.

wife (妻子) Hera is the beautiful and powerful wife (and sister) of Zeus.

Immortals (不死者) She is the most beautiful of the immortals, even more beautiful than the goddess of Love, Aphrodite.

ware (裝飾品) Her beauty is renewed each spring as she magically washes away the ware and worry of her immortal existence.

hate (恨) Hera hated the great hero Heracles since he was the son of her husband Zeus and a mortal woman.

crib (搖籃) When he was still an infant, she sent snakes to attack him in his crib.

revenge (報復) The story of Zeus and Io is the sad story of infidelity and revenge.

heifer (母牛) Zeus changed his beautiful lover, Io, into a black and white heifer to hide her from Hera.

ruse (詭計) Hera saw through the ruse and sent Argos Panoptes (all seeing) to keep watch on Io and keep Zeus away.

lyre(豎琴) Hermes at the command of Zeus, played his lyre and closed all eyes of Argos and then killed him.

Prod(刺,戳 ) Hera sent a gadfly(牛虻) to torment and constantly prod the poor heifer-maiden so that she might never rest or find comfort.

Egypt (埃及) Finally, Io was driven to the ends of the earth (i.e. Egypt) where she found peace.

peacock (孔雀) The eyes of Argos can still be seen in the tail of the peacock.
