A gynecologist is a physician who specializes in the health of the female reproductive system including disorders and diseases of that system. An OB/GYN is a physician who provides medical and surgical care to women and specializes in pregnancy, childbirth and disorders of the reproductive system.

Why? I chose this health career because I aspire to be an OB/GYN! I fell in love with the beauty of childbirth and the importance of preventing parents from mourning the loss of their child before they even get to know their child. So here I am informing you about this profession!

Educational Requirements? To become an OB/GYN a person must graduate from an approved medical school Complete and OB/GYN residency accredited by ACGME Earn an OB/GYN board certification Master OB/GYN subspecialties 4 years of school plus 2 years in clinical practice before certification is complete

Salary? In the USA, OB/GYNs working in clinics earn an estimate of $204,000 a year. A self employed OB/GYN earns an estimate of $400,000 a year. Their pay rate ranges from $99-$168 per hour.

Job Outlook Obstetrics and Gynecology is expected to grow at a rate higher than average for all occupations There will always be a need for OB/GYNs because people will always reproduce!
