Film Techniques How directors, advertisers and photographers make you feel a certain way.

Images we see in movies, television and in books can affect our moods and feelings ....But how? Lets find out some of the techniques that film, television and other media can use to make us feel a certain way......

The Low Camera Angle

Make characters look more powerful by making you feel smaller.

Also used in advertisements to make the product look bigger, stronger or meaner....

The high angle shot.... filmed from above How do these images make you feel? Can give feeling of weakness, or power over others...

Wide Shot.. Fairly Neutral

Medium close up More intense, can see more expression...

Extreme Close up To show lots of emotion, very intense effect..
