Formation of Questions Sp. 1 Realidades Ch. 3A

Asking and answering questions Asking and answering questions is one of the most primary and simple usages of language. It is a very basic way of using language in a meaningful and real-world context.

There are two primary ways To form questions: 1.Manipulation of word order and punctuation. 2. Tag Questions

1.Manipulation of word order and punctuation. There are three basic chunks that make up a basic sentence: Subject + Verb + Predicate Paco + is + tall and organized. The primary way to form questions is by manipulating (changing up) the word order of these chunks AND changing the punctuation. ¿VS (sw) P? Or ¿VPS (mw) ? Ie…Is Paco tall and organized? ¿Es Paco alto y ordenado? **(except with gustar-like verbs)

2. Tag Questions A tag question is a question just tacked on to a sentence: Subject + Verb + Predicate Paco + is + tall and organized, right? ¿verdad? - right? ¿no? - isnt it? Ie…Paco is tall and organized, right? Paco es alto y ordenado, ¿verdad?

I like to study. Elena likes to watch television. We dont like to do homework. Carlos and Miguel love cars. Yes, we like to look at photos.
