Instructions… For each scene, you will need to respond to the QUICK QUESTIONS, providing insight into the plot development, setting, characterization. ***If absent, it is your responsibility to complete the missed reading, questions, character log, etc.

Act 2, Scene 1: Character Log Mr. Van Daan: Mrs. Van Daan: Peter: Mr. Frank: Mrs. Frank: Mr. Kraler: Margot: Anne: Mr. Dussel Miep

Act 2, Scene 1: Quick Questions When Anne states, "...I can smell the wind and the cold on your clothes,” what does this show about the setting, their situation, and her character? When Mr. Dussel states, "Mrs. Frank divides things better," what reaction does this create? Why? What particular actions (from this scene) suggest that Mr. Van Daan is selfish, concerned primarily with his own well-being? What concern does Mr. Kraler reveal to Mr. Frank? What resolution does Mr. Frank suggest? What can we infer about Margot when she states, "Sometimes I wish the end would come... whatever it is"? Who or what does Anne blame for the "horror in the world"? Why? Why does Peter admire Anne? At the end of the scene, what change occurs with Anne and Peter's relationship? Provide evidence.
