It is situated on the hillside in the Northern part of Transdanubia, south from the Danube. It was established in the 19th century. The wines of the territory usually have reductive characteristic, they are dry and have vivid acidity. The wine region of Ászár–Neszmély

The wine region of Badacsony It is situated in the middle of Transdanubia on the Northern cost of Lake Balaton. Monks planted Pinot grist from France, which turned into a special kind called Szürkebarát, due to the conditions of the soil. The wines of the region are bulky, fiery and fruity.

The wine region of Balaton-highlands This region can be found in the middle of Transdanubia on the north-west coast of Lake Balaton. The Bishopric of Veszprém made a plantation here at the beginning of The wines of Balaton-highlands have a soft smell, they are fruity and elegant.

The wine region of Bükk This region can be found at the bottom of Hills of Bükk. Vinicultury dates back to the beginning of the 14th century in written memories. Wines made here are usually light, elegantly acid, slim and fruity.

The wine region of Csongrád Grapes were planted here to fix moving sand. A viniculture similar to red wine culture of the Balkans was established. Similarly to the wine regions of the Great plain the production of table wine is dominant.

The wine region of Eger It is one of the historical regions of Hungary. Wine growing in region was established in the 11th century. The most famous wine of the region is called Bulls Blood of Eger. It is a mixture of many red grape wines, which is a heavy, characteristic, blended wine owning the prefect acidity. Its origin is protected.

The wine region of Etyek–Buda This region contains the grapes and vineyards around Buda and the territories near the River Danube. From the end of the 19th century white grapes have been grown here for the well known champagnes of Törley family. Most of the wines are not so heavy, reductive and dry.

The wine region of Hajós–Baja This territory can be found between the rivers Danube and Tisza on the left coast of the River Danube. The region is suitable not only for growing white grapes but also for red grapes. It is famous for its velvet-like, gentle and fiery red and white wines.

The wine region of Kunság It can be found on the Great plain and the biggest one in the country. 64 types are grown here. The first written memories of winegrowing in the region dates back to The most important product is the so called pub wine, which is part of the everyday life.

The wine region of Mór This region is the smallest in the country. This territory is mainly characteristic about its white wines. These wines thank their manly characteristic for their high acidity.

The wine region of Pannonhalma This is a small territory in the northern part of Transdanubia. Hundred percent of the production is white wine. The first written memories of wine growing was mentioned in the estate registry of St. Leslie in 1093.

The wine region of Pécs This territory lies between the southern slopes of Hill Mecsek and Mohács. From the 18th rather from the 19th century the basic wines for champagnes have been produced here. The reign of the so called Kadarka was replaced with fragrant, fruity, spicy white wines.

The wine region of Somló This region can be found at the west from the bottom of Hill Bakony, and it is situated on the slopes of Somló towards the Small Plain. Grapes were started to grow in the Roman times. It is unique that even on the northern side of the hill is suitable to grow grapes. There was a belief that wine of Somló drunk at wedding night would bring male child into the family.

The wine region of Sopron This territory is situated at the bottom of the Alps on the southern coast of Lake Fertő, on the slopes of Hill Sopron. Mostly red wine is produced here. The wine of Sopron has a middle strength and alcohol content and acidity.

The wine region of Szekszárd This territory can be found in Tolna county on the most eastern part of the Hills of Szekszárd. The traditions of winery dates back to the Roman times. Its red wine is characteristic for its strength, tannic acid and alcohol content.

The wine region of Tokaj foothills This territory can be found in the North-east part of Hungary on the southern bottoms of Hill Zemplén. UNESCO World Heritage Committee listed it as a part of world heritage in When Louis XIV tasted Tokaj wine he said: kings wine, king of wines.

The wine region of Villány–Siklós This is our most southern wine region. In the 18th century the Swabian naturalized Portugieser which is the main type of this territory.
