Presentation transcript:

bSSFP Simulations The goal of these simulations is to show the effect of noise on different pcSSFP reconstruction schemes Further examine the uniformity of the max signal across the phase cycle curve with some flip angles Look at the multi-component SSFP equation used in mcDESPOT to see how it handles band The volume fraction is set to 1.0 so that the model should degrade to the single component one

bSSFP of 3T-WM Dotted line shows reconstructed values with noise. Note that MIP is heavily affected by noise as expected. SOS and Complex Sum are comparable with a slight edge to Complex Sum.

3T DESPOT1 There were existing questions about the effect of HOS and ARC on T1 mapping In a previous repeatability in vivo experiment between 2 days, there was somewhat poor control of HOS which may have affected the results ARC images produced corrupted T1 maps compared to the fully sampled and ASSET However this could have been caused by poor control of HOS (it was enabled on day 1 but not day 0) for the ARC scans Recent DISCO experiments have shown that ARC images created with offline.recon produce corrupted maps There was significant shading in the ARC images Fundamentally doesn’t really make sense why ARC would be corrupted but not ASSET

Methods 3T2, scanned 4/1/2012 Agar sphere phantom 32ch NOVA coil 8ch also acquired but DICOMs missing Acquired: w/ Autoshim Fully sampled, SPGR (up to 14 deg) and SSFP (up to 60 deg) ARC2x1.5 SPGR and SSFP w/ HOS Fully sampled, SPGR and SSFP ARC2x1.5, SPGR and SSFP Bloch-Siegert maps are processed but need to be incorporated into fitting Old fitting routines only allow DESPOT-HIFI, not arbitrary kappa map

T1 Map - Fully Sampled - Autoshim 0ms 1500ms

T1 Map - ARC2x1.5 - HOS 0ms 1500ms

T1 Map - ARC2x1.5 - Autoshim 0ms 1500ms

T1 Map - ARC2x1.5 - HOS 0ms 1500ms

Discussion Hard to say if there’s any additional shading added by ARC Need to try to reconstruct from pfile with offline.recon to compare against the shown GE ARC reconstruction
