How is Love Illustrated? 1 John 3:11-18 A NEGATIVE EXAMPLE 12 Do not be like Cain, who belonged to the evil one and murdered his brother. And why did he murder him? Because his own actions were evil and his brothers were righteous. Jesus said something very similar, If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first. 19 If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you.

How is Love Illustrated? 1 John 3:11-18 A NEGATIVE EXAMPLE A WARNING John now takes a sudden turn in his argument. Anyone who hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life in him. (v.15)

It was offered freely. It was filled with compassion. It was enduring (it didnt give up when we failed). It was sacrificial. It was transforming.
