What happened? At 09:40hrs A Pick up was going to Ibri and hit a camel

Discuss in your team: If you were driving in this road? - Any hazards/dangers? - What could go wrong ? - What would you do about it?

What went wrong? - Camel came back after crossing the road - Driver did not anticipate the camel will come back - The Driver did not reduce speed - The Driver did not take evasive action (DD* techniques not applied) * DD: Defensive Driving

Discuss in your team: If you were the driver: - Could an Incident similar to this happen to you? - What can you do to avoid it ? - What is the lesson learnt from this incident and what should you do with it ?

How to avoid it? - Expect the unexpected (stray animals) - Avoid unnecessary journeys - Expect the unexpected (stray animals) - If you see a camel reduce your speed ( Camels can change direction with no warning) - Avoid night driving; Camels do not reflect light - Remain vigilant for the presence of camels at all times.
