Pres / Arian (Money) Punt - A pound Punt is a feminine, singular noun and so the feminine forms of 2 (dwy), 3 (tair) and 4 (pedair) must be used. Cofiwch: as with all nouns, we use the singular form (punt) after numbers: £1 - punt (un bunt) £2 - dwy bunt £3 - tair punt £4 - pedair punt £5 - pum punt £6 - chwe phunt £7 - saith punt £8 - wyth punt £9 - naw punt £10 - deg punt MUTATIONS: (a) Soft Mutation after 'un' and 'dwy': un bunt dwy bunt There is no real need to use 'un bunt'. We can just say 'punt' - unless we need to emphasize the number for some reason. (b) Aspirate Mutation after 'chwe': chwe phunt (c) The way the final letter of both 'pump' and 'chwech' are omitted in front of a noun: pum punt chwe phunt As always - the advice is, don't learn rules - learn phrases parrot fashion so that e.g. 'pum punt', 'dwy bunt' and 'chwe phunt' become automatic.

Pres / Arian (Money) Ceiniog - A penny This is another feminine singular noun, so the same rules apply as to 'punt'. 1p - ceiniog 2p - dwy geiniog 3p - tair ceiniog 4p - pedair ceiniog 5p - pum ceiniog 6p - chwe cheiniog 7p - saith ceiniog 8p - wyth ceiniog 9p - naw ceiniog 10p - deg ceiniog 20p – dau ddeg ceiniog 30p – tri deg ceiniog 40p – pedwar deg ceiniog 50p – pum deg ceiniog 60p – chwe deg ceiniog 70p – saith deg ceiniog 80p – wyth deg ceiniog 90p – naw deg ceiniog £1 - punt Once again learn the following, in particular, parrot fashion: dwy geiniog pum ceiniog chwe cheiniog Fflur Rees Roberts, Coleg Meirion-Dwyfor
