Updates Form 6744: Two changes to Advanced Scenario 8 on pg 87 Roberta claimed EIC for Jacob on her 2015 tax return, but he only lived with her for two months and the credit was disallowed. Roberta had wage income of $35,000 in 2018 Note: some questions can have more than one answer (round choices for for one, square choices for more than one) IRS Site Coordinator training on VITA/TCE Central test site does not replace requirement for Local and Shift Coordinators to receive Tax-Aide Local Coordinator training (in Portal Library) CO1 -IW 2018

Updates… Print sets Absent spouse E-file returns – numbered schedules that are used will stack print Paper returns – will be new print set as numbered schedules must be on separate pages More information coming from TaxSlayer/NTC Absent spouse Do not assume missing spouse will grant Relational Group consent Do leave return type as e-file so Form 8879 will print (TaxSlayer will not allow e-filing if consent denied) CO1 -IW 2018

Updates… Relational Group logins (for two volunteers per state) will be available midish-December. No need to contact TaxSlayer support asking for them ~1,800 participants in Nov 15 TaxSlayer stress test  Encourage all to participate on Dec 8 to stress the system (better now than Feb 1) CO1 -IW 2018

Updates… State amended returns for Veterans Disability Payments Likely that most states will NOT acquiesce to this change back to 1991 – discuss with your state tax agency Can complete a state amended return if State law agrees with federal treatment of veteran disability payments State Coordinator permits filing complete amendment for 2015 or 2016 Client Facilitators must pass Intake/Interview & Quality Review test in addition to Volunteer Standards of Conduct test CO1 -IW 2018
