YOUR CHILD IS A READER!

What is Title I?

WHAT IS THE TITLE I PROGRAM? A federally funded program focused on building a connection between school and family Additional reading instruction and practice targeting the specific needs of students A small group setting Brief and frequent sessions coordinated with the classroom teacher’s schedule A statement about the quality of Title I teachers is sent home annually, and parents may request information regarding the professional qualifications of teachers at any time.

How are students selected for the program? Assessments Teacher Recommendations Team Decision (teacher, principal, guidance counselor, reading specialist, parents)

DISTRICT ASSESSMENTS: Grade Level: Assessments: First Sight Words (Oral and Written), DRA2, DIBELS Next (LNF, PSF, NWF, DORF); iReady Second Sight Words (Oral and Written), DIBELS Next (NWF, DORF), Benchmark Assessments (comprehension), Writing Prompts; iReady Third DIBELS Next (DORF), Benchmark Assessments (comprehension), Writing Prompts; iReady Fourth DIBELS Next (DORF), Benchmark Assessments; iReady Fifth *Note: Reading Teachers use additional assessments as needed.
