Living/Working Conditions During the Industrial Revolution

Instructions Part 1 -Form groups of 3-4 -You will be shown many images from life during the Industrial Revolution -In your groups you will discuss each image for 1 minute

Instructions Part 2 -Select one group member to label each image and a 1 sentence description on the white board -Select one group member to write down your thoughts for each image on a piece of paper for group credit -After the 1 minute I will call for the boards to be raised. We will discuss them as a class

Many People moved from small towns to big cities Why? Their Farms were being bought by companies They became tenant farmers There was more opportunity in the cities

Happy Farm: This is a farm where people lived freely and enjoyed nature.

Calm House: This is a farm house of a rich family during autumn.

Dream Village: This looks like a calm and peaceful town where everyone knows each other.

Rich House: This is how the super wealthy lived Rich House: This is how the super wealthy lived. They had fancy art and huge houses.

The Room with no room: This family is living and working in a small space.

The School of Work: These young children had to work to help feed their families.

Children at Play: Young children are playing on a dirty street next to a dead horse.
