GOD’S PROMISE TO COMFORT – pity,sigh,avenge TO CONSOLE – Implore, exhort,entreat,invite What is the purpose of God’s promise?
GOD’S PURPOSE To reach the Nations, the ends of the earth. Isa 49v6 God’s purpose is always far greater than anything we can imagine
GOD’S PERSON JESUS!! No one else could do this Isa 52 v 13 – 53 v 12
GOD’S PRECONDITION ‘Something that must exist or happen before something else can exist or happen’ When Jesus arrives, things can never be the same again
WHAT HAPPENS WHEN JESUS COMES He will be a stone that makes people stumble Isa 8v14 He will startle many nations and Kings will shut their mouths because of Him Isa 53
He did not come to bring peace on earth, but division! Lk12v51 The question is “WHY?” and why is this God’s precondition? The gospel - too radical to fudge
God’s Promise, God’s Purpose and God’s Person – Are these for us?
In which case - God’s precondition must be for us also. When Jesus arrives things can never be the same again
