A HOLY LIFE 2 Corinthians 6:12-7:1

Following Jesus will make you different.

2 Corinthians 6

12 You are not restricted by us, but you are restricted in your own affections. 13 In return (I speak as to children) widen your hearts also.

14 Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers 14 Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness? Or what fellowship has light with darkness? 15 What accord has Christ with Belial?

Or what portion does a believer share with an unbeliever Or what portion does a believer share with an unbeliever? 16 What agreement has the temple of God with idols? For we are the temple of the living God;

as God said, “I will make my dwelling among them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

Your faith in the work of Jesus on the cross welcomes the presence of God into your life.

Sanctification – the process of setting something apart for its sole purpose.

Holiness does not draw attention to the chasm, it draws attention to the bridge.

1 Thessalonians 5:23-24 Now may the God of peace himself sanctify you completely, and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless at the

coming of our Lord Jesus Christ coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 24 He who calls you is faithful; he will surely do it.

Leviticus 11:44 For I am the Lord your God. Consecrate yourselves therefore, and be holy, for I am holy.

1 Timothy 2:21 Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from what is dishonorable, he will be a vessel for honorable use, set apart as holy, useful to

the master of the house, ready for every good work.

Hebrews 12:1 ...Let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings to closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us.

2 Corinthians 6:17  Therefore go out from their midst, and be separate from them, says the Lord, and touch no unclean thing; then I will welcome you

and I will be a father to you, and you shall be sons and daughters to me, says the Lord Almighty.

It will not be fully accomplished while my soul is in this body.

Ephesians 5  25 Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her, 26 that he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water

with the word, 27 so that he might present the church to himself in splendor, without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, that she might be holy and without blemish.

Colossians 1   21 And you, who once were alienated and hostile in mind, doing evil deeds, 22 [Christ] has now reconciled in his body of flesh by

his death, in order to present you holy and blameless and above reproach before him,

Made holy by Jesus, invited to live holy by the Spirit, and presented as holy to the Father.

1 Since we have these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from every defilement of body and spirit, bringing holiness to completion in the fear of God.
