a. Submitting to God is saying “yes” to God even when God my will and God’s will cross. Luke 9:23-25 Then He said to them all, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me. 24 For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will save it. 25 For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and is himself destroyed or lost?

b. Submitting to God is saying “yes” to God even when the decision is costly and painful. Luke 22:41-44 And He was withdrawn from them about a stone’s throw, and He knelt down and prayed, 42 saying, “Father, if it is Your will, take this cup away from Me; nevertheless, not My will, but Yours, be done.” 43 Then an angel appeared to Him from heaven, strengthening Him. 44 And being in agony, He prayed more earnestly. Then His sweat became like great drops of blood falling down to the ground.

c. Submitting to God is surrendering your Isaac to God Genesis 22:1 Now it came to pass after these things that God tested Abraham, and said to him, “Abraham!” And he said, “Here I am.” Genesis 22:2 Then He said, “Take now your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you.”

The call to surrender is the call to obey commands that feel inconceivable and believe things that seem impossible.   The call to surrender is the call to let go of what we love most to be embraced by the One who loves us the most.

The call to surrender is a call to obedience. Genesis 22:3 So Abraham rose early in the morning and saddled his donkey, and took two of his young men with him, and Isaac his son; and he split the wood for the burnt offering, and arose and went to the place of which God had told him.    The call to surrender is a call to obedience.

What do you need to submit to God? Genesis 22:4-5 Then on the third day Abraham lifted his eyes and saw the place afar off. 5 And Abraham said to his young men, “Stay here with the donkey; the lad and I will go yonder and worship, and we will come back to you.”   The call to surrender is a call to trust God. What is your Isaac? What do you need to submit to God?
