Emperor Taizong of Tang 唐太宗 Emperor Taizong of Tang

唐太宗

唐太宗 Was the second emperor of Tang Dynasty; Was one of the best and most famous emperor in Chinese history; Was very kind to his people; under his governing, both the population and economy developed drastically; Expanded China’s land; Gave Buddhism huge support and sent a famous monk to the west to get more Buddhism books;

魏征(wei4 zheng1) Wei Zheng was an official who always expressed his opinions directly instead of adulating the emperor. Once唐太宗 got angry since he criticized唐太宗 in such a honest way that唐太宗 felt he lost face in front of other officials.唐太宗 said to his wife, a wise and kind woman: “I want to kill this guy!” After his wife asked for the reason, she changed formal clothes, knelt down and said: “I want to congratulate your Majesty, since only wise emperors get honest officials.”唐太宗 changed his mind and treated魏征 as before. http://www.tudou.com/programs/view/PeknUiEgOGw/(1’20”)
