Step 1 LISTEN! “Obey My voice, and I will be your God and you will be My people. Walk in all the ways that I have commanded you (Jer 7:23). Obey (Hebrew: (H8085) Shama- listen intelligently, with the ntent to do). Don’t walk in the counsel and imagination of your own evil heart (mind)(vs24c) Because that will cause you to go ‘backward and not forward”.

The Widow of Zarephath 1Kings 18: 7-15 8 Then the word of the Lord came to him, 9 “Arise, go to Zarephath, which belongs to Sidon, and dwell there. Behold, I have commanded a widow there to feed you.”  10 So he arose and went to Zarephath. And when he came to the gate of the city, behold, a widow was there gathering sticks. And he called to her and said, “Bring me a little water in a vessel, that I may drink.”  11 And as she was going to bring it, he called to her and said, “Bring me a morsel of bread in your hand.”  12 And she said, “As the Lord your God lives, I have nothing baked, only a handful of flour in a jar and a little oil in a jug. And now I am gathering a couple of sticks that I may go in and prepare it for myself and my son, that we may eat it and die.”  13 And Elijah said to her, “Do not fear; go and do as you have said. But first make me a little cake of it and bring it to me, and afterward make something for yourself and your son.  14 For thus says the Lord, the God of Israel, ‘The jar of flour shall not be spent, and the jug of oil shall not be empty, until the day that the Lord sends rain upon the earth.’”  15 And she went and did as Elijah said. And she and he and her household ate for many days. 16 The jar of flour was not spent, neither did the jug of oil become empty, according to the word of the Lord that he spoke by Elijah.

Step 2 Shift to Abundance 1 Kings Chapter 18- The Widow of Zarephath. Lack is a sign that it’s time to change your strategy. A change in season calls for a change in strategy. A change in strategy may call for a change in Location- Physical, Spiritual or both Relationships- God-ordained partnerships Faith is the substance of things HOPED for, the evidence of things not yet seen (in the physical realm). 1 Kings Chapter 18- The Widow of Zarephath. Give God Your Little 1 Kings Chapter 18- The Widow of Zarephath. God wants to take your little and make plenty. What’s in your hand? Experiences, gifts/talents, Education, Likes/dislikes, natural abilities, learned abilities God gives us desires and dreams based on what He has given us. “Take delight in the LORD, and he will give you your heart's desires” (Ps. 37:4). In this season, God is requiring what’s ALREADY IN YOUR HAND. The widow “possessed “only a handful of meal in a barrel and a little oil in a jar” (vs12)

Give God Your Little God promised supernatural provision “The barrel of meal will not run out, nor will the jar of oil empty…” (16). She did not move based on her own reality or feeling. The widow “possessed “only a handful of meal in a barrel and a little oil in a jar” (vs12)

Step 3 Take Action “She went from Lack to Abundance in one day. (vs13). “She went and did what Elijah told her to do and they ate many days” (vs 13). BOTH OF THEM! It was a God-Ordained Partnership A new strategy was necessary The children of Israel received “abundance” from nothing. He split the rocks in the wilderness and gave them abundance to drink (Psalm 78:15) He gave them manna in abundance (vs25).) He rained down meat on them as dust (vs 2

Step 3 Take Action God said it! God is faithful. God said they’ll have plenty from little. And they did! Whatever you have in your hand today, As you fast and pray, Take note of what is in your hand NOW! As you journal, write freely, listen freely. We will return to your insights at the end.
