Soils and Productivity Personal Giftedness Soils and Productivity Matthew 13:1-23; Ephesians 2:10

Every Christian Has an assignment. Is expected to be productive in God’s Kingdom. Was created by God to work.

Seeds and Soil Matthew 13:3-9 -- “A farmer went out to sow his seed. As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path…Some fell on rocky places…Other seed fell among thorns…Still other seed fell on good soil...Whoever has ears, let them hear.”

The Seed Was All Good Seed sown in each of us. No exceptions. Seed all good. Difference was in the soil.

Types of Soil/ Human Hearts Path – Seeds eaten by birds Rocky places – plants withered Thorny ground – plants choked Good soil – produced a crop 100, 60, 30 times what was sown

Which Soil Describes Me? Pathway: No interest in Jesus? No desire to serve the Lord? No understanding of the word of God?

Rocky Ground No root? Pew warmer? Periphery? Fall away when trouble comes

Thorny Ground Choked out. Too many worries? Too much wealth and comfort? Too busy?

Good Soil Produces a crop! Understands word! Yields 100X 60X 30X

Ephesians 2:10 -- For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

We are God’s handiwork: POIEMA We are created in Christ Jesus We are assigned to do good works. God prepared these works beforehand.
