Renaissance Where it “all” began!

Location….location….location! Renaissance started in Italy. Why? It’s a “boot”!! (peninsula) It is the center of the Mediterranean which means trade is what makes them money

Venice The city of waterways and trade. Many people from all around the world came through this city to trade. Not only were actual “things” traded but ideas were spread as well.

Florence “Money makes the world go round.” Well – it didn’t until the Renaissance started. Before – it was barter and trade (I will trade you this pencil for that pen) After – money became the currency

Banking The Medici Family 1st bankers They would lend money to people so they can “purchase” new items throughout the area This became the example of the banking we use today.

Humanism The idea that “humans” have the right and ability to change their own lives. Focus on worldly issues NOT religious issues. Make your own destiny through education and creativity.
