3 Man Mechanics

Mechanics for 3 Officials is the same for all levels Referee; will have the 25 Second clock. Must focus on line play as the R is 1/2 Umpire. Give ready to play signal in the backfield. Count Offense. Linesman; has responsibility for chains and forward progress. Will cover short zone on pass plays. Will mark off penalty on sideline to assist LJ or R and allow for rapid placement of ball. Line Judge; has clock responsibilities. Has deep responsibility on passes. Has receiver on scrimmage kicks. Shall loosen up several yards downfield after the snap at the JV level.

3 man Penalty enforcement, Referee gives prelim signal, confers with captain. Moves to new spot. Sets ball gives penalty signal. R LJ L Line judge pass ball off to Referee after new spot is determined

3 man R L LJ Line Judge has penalty, illegal motion. Linesman must officiate all players

1.Count Players, fist means count is good R has Offense, L and LJ have defense 2. Only R winds the clock 3. All Officials echo stop the clock signal 4.
