Promoting Value of official statistics Overall objective: to promote role and place of official statistics and enhance statistical infrastructure Various initiatives currently underway Pre-requisite: common understanding on users/producers interaction model and clear typology of users, of quality expectations and of products that can be offered by official statistics ESS RDG 17 June

Current initiatives Vienna Group - A small group of NSIs are discussing with Eurostat on the value of official statistics - Revision of the long term mission, vision and values statements for official statistics -Exchange of innovative practices on user interaction and new products and services ESS RDG 17 June 2015

Current initiatives (contd) Towards a more active branding/labelling policy of official statistics: design a visual stamp giving a strong identity and conveying the values of official statistics, and promote this quality mark; establish labels ('indicators', 'standard', 'experimental') reflecting different quality grades Procedure for certification (who and how?)
