audacity noun-fearlessness and boldness synonym: nerve Can you believe the audacity of that student? He only spent a few minutes creating his alien. Now, he has to create an entire story from that drawing.

myriad adjective Meaning: consisting of a great number Synonym: innumerable Mrs. Stumpf’s students created a myriad of aliens.                      

Obliterate verb Meaning: destroy Synonym: annihilate I wonder how many aliens will be obliterated in the students’ vignettes?

Superficial adjective Meaning: only on the surface Synonym: shallow My alien is not superficial. She has a big heart and is very intelligent. Luminescent is as pretty on the inside as she is on the outside.

Vacuous adjective Meaning: lacking ideas Synonym: empty-headed I hope your head is not vacuous when you start to write your alien vignette. I want your head to be full of ideas.

venerate verb Meaning: regard highly Synonym: revere Luminescent should be venerated as the prototype or archetype for all aliens.
