GRADE 12 INFORMATION Tuesday September 18th, 2018 Mr. Bosnic & Mrs. Walton all day Ms. Ebert semester 1&2 period 1

Important Information 1. Research your pathways – through the guidance web page-graduate resources www.grimsbyeagles.com Application deadlines are all updated here! 2. Complete your “What I have Accomplished Form” and hand it in to guidance by May 1, 2019 or you will NOT be considered for a grad award.

Important Information 3. Look on the Grad Page on the in-school tv monitors in the main row, cafeteria and the library! You have to check! 4. By June 1 you need to complete your community hours and commencement card (no exceptions)

Application Information Our website has links to both College and University application sites and apprenticeship information. OSAP applications can now be started on your University or College application, you need to follow the prompts once you have completed your application-then in the Spring you will have to fill out more information.

SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION It is up to you to research your options and let us know if you require our support!! The following require a school nomination – indicate your interest on the hand-out and come to guidance by the end of Sept. to let us know that you are interested: Queen’s Chancellor’s Scholarship – 1 student per school (2 if you are interested in Qu’Arms), must be going to Queen’s, superior academic ability, leadership, creative, original thinking, school and community involvement – must be received by October 2018 in order to have access to the application on-line – must apply to university by Nov. 20,2018. Loran Scholars - Character, Service, Leadership, high marks 85% average, up to 3 sponsored applications – must be received by Oct. 17, 2018 Schulich Leader – Leadership, Academic Excellence, Financial Need, Entrepreneurial, careers in Tech, Engineering, Scientific research and innovation- must be received by Jan. 30, 2019

U of T National Scholarship – Original thinker, academic, creative, involvement in school and community, enthusiastic about learning - November 1 deadline to apply, must be a book award nominee Branscombe Family Foundation – FINANCIAL NEED, application due end of April, you Mesut come to the guidance office to get the application Brock Principal’s Scholarship – leadership, engagement in school and community, academic excellence and must be going to Brock U- 2 per school can be nominated, application due April 2019 Scholarship finding is not our job-it’s yours – we can support you with required letters of reference, transcript etc. please do not leave this to the last minute!!! 

Graduation Requirements 40 Community Involvement Make sure your 40 hours are logged in “Hour Republic” by the June 1st deadline!! This can be found on your D2L
