Importance of a Name What is a name? A word or phrase that constitutes the distinctive designation of a person or thing (Merriam-Webster) A word or set of words by which a person or thing is known, addressed, or referred to (Oxford Dictionary) Importance of a name A name of a person or thing is: An identity eg – we are called Christians Distinguishes the person or thing from others A source of strength (The Name of the LORD is a strong tower, Prov 18v10) Names given to people are sources of strength (eg Daniel represents one who stood for GOD/overcomer, Joseph is known for holiness and revelation etc)

Importance of a Name Name is so important that it comes first on almost any form you fill Even at an interview, they will most times first confirm your name and some are very careful to pronounce your name correctly Name confers authority (eg The Queen after her signature will write her name) Name marks hereditary Name denotes pedigree (eg the Aristocrats “Elizabeth, William, George) Name gets one’s attention eg calling one’s name. Hence that is why people are offended when people are calling their name falsely  Everything about JESUS’ deity, power and mission were enshrined in that name - GOD always choose/changes the name to fit the purpose eg Abram to Abraham, Sarai to Sarah, Jacob to Israel

How to use the Name of JESUS  The enemy will do anything to keep the TRUTH from people I AM the way the TRUTH and the LIFE (John 14v6) You shall know the TRUTH and the TRUTH shall set you free (John 8v32) -Free from fear of death -Free from sin -Free from sickness - Free from demonic oppression Who the Son sets free is free indeed (John 8 v36)  Today you will know how to use the Name of JESUS and you shall be set free in JESUS’ name….Amen!
