This historic property, one of the ten oldest lodging properties in the State of California, is in excellent condition and even has its own resident ghost. This Gold Country boutique hotel is a turn key operation and also operates as a Bed & Breakfast catering to the comfort and culinary delights of the clientele. The nine romantic guest rooms are restored to the Gold Rush era and have private bath with tiled showers. There is a soaking room with antique two person tub, two dining rooms seating 75 and a patio with additional seating for 40-50. The saloon has a seating capacity of 20-22 in addition to the front desk area.

The gourmet dinner menu in the award/winning restaurant features Mediterranean cuisine and brunch is served on Sundays. You can serve yourself from the excellent buffet breakfast and relax under the vine covered courtyard with a glass of super wine. The main structure dates mainly from 1927 and includes basement, commercial kitchen, office, saloon and front desk whilst the rear addition, from 1985-1986, has the pantry, chef’s office and storage. The manager’s apartment´, workshop, wine storage, and liquor store dates from the latter 1800s.

FloThe Ghost Flo, the National Hotel's Friendly Ghost generally stays upstairs in the hotel, seemingly favoring the rooms in the front of the building although she has, on occasion, been seen early in the morning downstairs, floating through the dining room and right through the walls. Each of the guest rooms has a notebook which welcomes guests to share their experiences and comments. There are numerous accounts of doors slamming, lights going on and off, clothing being dumped from suitcases onto the floor, and a woman's sobbing coming from the hallway in the middle of the night.

Location Situated in Main Street, Jamestown not far from Yosemite National Park, Columbia State Park, Rail town 1897 and the Dodge Ridge Ski area the hotel is in one of the best locations in the area.
