What is Symbolism? Symbolism is when an object or character represents something more than just itself. For example, a cross represents Christianity, the Star of David is a symbol of Judaism, and the Longhorn head represents Kell High School. On the next slide, you will see a picture of a necklace that contains several symbols. You are to examine the picture and determine what the symbols suggest about the wearer (the person who owns the necklace). List the symbols and their meaning on a piece of paper, and bring it to class on the next time we meet. (Tuesday, August 11 for A Day, Wednesday, August 13 for B Day)

What Symbols Do You See?
