Healthy People 2020

What is it? Goals and objectives that are designed to reach target levels in a ten year time span in order to improve the health of the American people.

The Overarching Goals Attain high quality, longer lives free of preventable disease, disability, injury, and premature death Achieve health equity, eliminate disparities, and improve the health of all groups Create social and physical environments that promote good health for all Promote quality of life, healthy development, and healthy behaviors across life stages Achieve longer, higher qualities of life Make health care available and fair to all groups Create environments to promote health Encourage long-term healthy lifestyles
