General Routines Register is taken at 9:00 Collective Worship is held everyday at 9:30 Maths and English every day. Topic and Foundation subjects every afternoon P.E. sessions are Monday and Thursday Monday – Tennis Thursday – Ball Skills The school day ends at 3:10

Homework Reading (at least 3 times per week). This will be monitored on Mondays and recorded in Homework Books. Reading Rewards will continue. Spelling Practising spellings weekly – scores from tests recorded in Homework books. Tested on a Monday Learning multiplication tables. Scores from Mrs Adams will be recorded in Homework Diaries weekly. Plus one other piece of work – this may take on a variety of forms Project Homework Children will be able to pick an aspect of the theme that they have enjoyed and choose from a ‘Pick ‘n’ Mix’ selection of tasks. This will be for each theme – 3 times per year.

Multiplication Times Table Check From the 2019/20 academic year onwards, schools in England will be required to administer an online multiplication tables check (MTC) to year 4 pupils. The purpose of the MTC is to determine whether pupils can recall their times tables fluently, which is essential for future success in mathematics. It will help schools to identify pupils who have not yet mastered their times tables, so that additional support can be provided. 25 questions Pupils will have 6 seconds to enter a response to the question. The 6 seconds start as soon as the question appears. Questions will all follow the same format: n1 × n2 = Items will be selected from the 121 items that make up the 2 to 12 multiplication tables. More marks will be given for correct answers on the 6, 7, 8, 9 and 12 multiplication tables because these have been determined to be the most difficult multiplication tables.

Maths Continue to practise and develop our written methods to add, subtract, multiply and divide Use our place value knowledge to learn about decimals and then multiply and divide both whole and decimal numbers by 10 Use measurements to estimate and convert lengths and weight Use money in problem solving Identify equivalent fractions Explore negative numbers in the context of temperature Read and tell the time to the nearest minute and answering questions using timetables.

Maths Club Takes place once a week, usually on a Thursday. The children’s score will be written in their homework diary along with the club that they are on E.g. 4S 15/15. The number of the club is the times tables they are learning. B is Bronze which is the table in order S is Silver which is the table out of order G is Gold which is the table and division facts.

English Writing will be inspired by the green and pleasant land that we live in – Great Britain! Researching and writing reports on British Wildlife Using interesting and ambitious vocabulary to create animal poems. Story writing will be set in the local area where the children will learn how to build excitement and suspense through whispers and warnings….! Continuing with our whole class reading lessons, retrieving information, interpreting meaning and commenting on the author's style using the fabulous book “Charlotte’s Web.”

Topic Geography based Comparing people and places in the UK, Europe, North America and South America expanding our cultural knowledge Study our local area and explore the local environment comparing and researching key features Identify key attractions in our area and discover the similarities and differences between where we live and other intriguing locations! Investigate key European physical features, further our historical and cultural knowledge, create maps and examine the weather from different climate zones.
