Vocabulary: As it pertains to the article Overhauling, beachhead, vague, villainous, preying, mockery, hypocritical, domesticated, unhinged, demagogue, protectionist

Task #1 Write three things you would expect to see if the country was going in a positive direction. Write three things you would expect to see if the country was going in a negative direction Get into groups of 5/6 and review the notes, and identify any patterns or draw conclusions if possible. What types of things were most frequently identified as positive or negative? What does this mean?

Task #2: A Sunnier Trump… read the article (page 4) and highlight things you would consider positive for the country in one color and negative for the country in another Find 3-4 articles (w/evidence) that identifies the country going in one direction or another. Explain why. In your groups, compare your answers and come to a conclusion.

Discussion Questions (answer w/thought) Why do you think the article ends with “Now ‘the formal presidency has begun.”? What words would you use to describe the Trump presidency so far? What advice would you give to President Trump, if asked?
