Tardy to class When the tardy bell is ringing you must be seated in your assigned desk working on the “Strong Start” assignment. a. Strong Starts are to be in your Notes Area of your Binder! Once I close the door to the classroom I will begin prayer. If you are NOT seated in your desk you are tardy and must wait until I allow you into the room. a. You will be placed on the “D” List which means that you will need to report to my room at 3:05pm to serve detention. 20 Minutes Late and you report to the Attendance Office. a. You are responsible for any instructions/work that you miss while you are out of class. You are expected to be ON TIME to class, to be responsible for your actions and to be mature about having to get a Tardy Slip. Arguing with Ms. Montoya about the tardy will only result in a 2nd Detention.
Absent from class Illness, suspension OR Sports, Travel, Mental Health Day … etc An excused absence means that you will be allowed to make up work. An unexcused absence means that you receive a zero for all work either done or due on that day. Because due dates will be clearly stated and given well in advance -- if a student misses the date that a test or quiz was given the student is expected to report to my classroom by 7:15am the day they return to school in order to take the missed test or quiz. Assignment due dates are also clearly stated on the monthly calendar therefore, any work due on the date of your return is expected to be turned into me during class. IF an assignment is given on the day of your absence then you will have the amount of days absent to make up the work.
