Was Stalin a GOOD leader??

Brief introduction about Stalin Born in Joseph Dzhugashvili He was the General Secretary of the Central Committee of Communist Party of the Soviet Union from onwards- He increasd the control to the Communist Party, leading him become the leader of Communist Party and the dictator of the USSR.

What Stalin had done?? Turned USSR into a totalitarianism country and became a dictator Five-year Plans Great Purges

Industrialization In order to industrialized USSR to improve the economic structure, Stalin make use of the unpaid labor of both common and political prisoners in the labor camps. He also consulted foreign experts to instruct their workers and improve their manufacturing processes.

Collectivization In order to increase the agricultural output by forming large-scale mechanized farms, he brought the farmers under more direct political control, and made tax collection more efficient.

Industrialztion Increased the steel and coal output of USSR. Helped to modernize the previously backward Soviet economy as more new products were made and the scale of products made were greatly increased. Some innovations were based on native technical developments, and others were based on imported form foreign technology. Collectivization The agricultural production actually dropped. Stalin blamed the failure was caused by the nonsupport of farmers who resisted collectivization. But many historians assert that the disruption caused by collectivization was largely responsible for famines.

In order to consolidate absolute power in USSR, Stalin ordered his secret police to launch a broad purge in USSR to suppress or remove the intellectuals or artists those who threatened his leadership.

In 1937, Red Army commanders were charged with conspiracy, convicted, and executed. In Second World War in 1939, about 30,000 officers in the armed forces had been executed. It has been estimated that between 1936 and 1941, a third of all military officers were arrested. From 1936 until 1953,those targeted by the purge were often expelled from the party, exile in Siberia, sent to the labor camps, other remote regions, imprisonment or even to the execution held by the Soviet secret police.

Stalin's rule had long-lasting effects on the features that characterized the Soviet state from the area of his rule to its collapse in Some people said Stalin was actually the last legitimate Socialist leader in the history of USSR. Stalin claimed his policies were based on Communism. Some Russians are now often represent a political and economic system called Stalinism.

We think that Stalin was not a good leader. The implement of the Great Purges was very cruel The adoption of the Five-years plan could not accepted by each citizens in the USSR. Was Stalin a GOOD leader??
