The original intent was to convert the pharmacy store room into an operating theatre. 2015 Concept development. Sketching of possible floor plans. Engagement of architect 2016 Fundraising Finalization of plans with architect Development of AHI/AHCL Building Committee November – Groundbreaking Phase 1 2017 Construction Phase 1 2018 Fundraising for Phase 2 March – Cabinet work completed Phase 1. Building use commenced May – Construction of Phase 2 commenced October – Phase 2 nearing completion History Upon arrival of the new surgeon in 2015, and after discussion with the medical director, it was felt that a better option was needed for optimal traffic flow, infection control, and space allocation Mission To develop reputable surgical, endoscopy, maternity and critical care facilities in a small urban health care facility, thus expanding its ability to serve the community. Statistical Summary There has been overall growth in the number of surgical procedures being done. The new surgical suite has particularly enabled more major procedures. Future Goals Construction of Outpatient Services building to include: Urgent Care Center Diagnostic Center (Lab, Imaging) Specialty Clinics Dental Clinic Eye Care Center Administration Offices Conference/Education facilities
