God's Plan For Local church Acts 14:23 Philippians 1:1 Titus 1:5 Unqualified can cause problems Elders, bishops and pastors same men Acts 20:17, 28 1 Peter 5:1, 2 Those Responsible for developing elders:

Whole congregation Show respect & appreciation for elders 1 Timothy 5:17-19 Lack of such discourages present elders and potential elders Demonstrate desire to glorify God by Submission to His Plan Young men – study qualifications & begin NOW to develop

Responsibility of: Those NOT qualified themselves Children Present elders Be example to be respected & imitated Teach and train younger men Those NOT qualified themselves Can be supportive and encouraging to others Children 1 Timothy 3:4-7 – have a "good report"

Responsibility of: Parents Wives 1 Timothy 3:11 May gossip; not be in subjection; discourage or belittle husband Some dress immodestly Can be great help and encouragement Parents What do your children say about the elders
