It is supposed to happen, it is expected What does it all mean? What does it mean to be DESTINED? It is supposed to happen, it is expected How has the US added land? Wars, treaties, purchases,

What is Manifest Destiny? The God given right for the US to acquire all lands from the Atlantic to Pacific Oceans (“sea to shining sea”)

The Oregon Trail The Oregon Trail was the only practical passageway to the entire western United States. Pioneers faced many hardships including disease, poor sanitation, geography, climate, accidental gunshots, shortage of supplies, and attacks by Native Americans The Oregon Trail ended in 1869 when the transcontinental railroad was completed.

Groups That Migrated West A. Mormons moved out west to escape religious persecution. 1. People did not like the practice of polygamy and communal ownership of property.
