II. Zeal Overcomes Challenges A. Authority of the Resurrection John 2:18-22 (1st cleansing) 1. “Why did you cleanse the temple?” 2. Referred to His Resurrection a. “Destroy this temple, and in 3 days I will build it again.” b. He was God
II. Zeal Overcomes Challenges B. Authority of the Scriptures Matt. 21:14-16 (2nd cleansing) 1. After the 2nd cleansing, kids began to sing His praises & the leaders objected 2. He quoted Ps. 8:2 as His right to receive praise.
III. Zeal Can Be Wrong John 2:23-25 A. After the 1st cleansing many believed on the Lord (zeal). B. They stopped following when Christ stopped doing miracles.
