Curriculum Our topic this term is ‘To Infinity and Beyond!’ We will be learning about the solar system and the names of the planets. What would we need to make a rocket? History: Significant People/Events – The lives of significant individuals in the past who have contributed to national and international achievements. (Neil Armstrong) Geography Identify seasonal and daily weather patterns in the UK (linked to Science) Look at what Earth looks like from space. Name and locate the world’s seven continents and oceans. P.E Days Our Year 1 and Year 2 children will do P.E on Mondays and Wednesdays. Please ensure your child has their P.E kit in school all week. All clothing should be labelled with their name. Please remember that all children require a tracksuit and trainers as one of their P.E lessons is generally outside. Throughout the colder months, the children will continue to have access to the outdoor learning areas. Please ensure that your child has suitable outdoor wear, including wellies, a warm coat and waterproofs. Homework Children will continue to receive their spelling sentences on a Friday and will be given reading books to be read at home as normal. Please try as much as you can to listen to your child read. Reading has such an impact on all areas of learning. Year 2 children will also be sent home with some extra ‘Maths’ practise to consolidate things that they are doing in lessons.
