Ryan Davies Regional PE & Coaching in Education Co-ordinator, North East England The Football Association

The course is FA certificated and candidates receive a resource pack to complement the learning. What is it? The FA Primary Teachers Award is 6 hours in duration and completely free to candidates. The course focuses on all aspects of the National Curriculum for Physical Education at both Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, with the aim of boosting the confidence and enhancing the delivery of those who teach PE in a primary school environment.

Who is it for? Qualified practising primary school teachers Those working towards becoming a primary teacher (e.g. currently studying for a PGCE Primary qualification) Higher Level Teaching Assistants (HLTA’s) Undergraduate PE/Sport Coaching students considering primary teaching as a career

What is covered? Fundamental movements Multi-directional Games/Directional Games PE National Curriculum Planning (KS1 & KS2) Assessment in PE Differentiation in PE Coaching a school team

Learning outcomes…. By the end of this course, the learner will be able to: Recognise the role invasion games have in the KS1 and KS2 PE purpose and study. Set up organised lessons. Organise basic FUNdamental games to help develop movement skills. Modify learning activities to manage difference. Help with school teams and provide further playing opportunities for pupils.
