Allergy Alerts

Recorded Allergy in eKiDs If the patient does not have allergy information recorded, the indicator will display **Allergies Not Recorded**, meaning no allergy information has been recorded. At CHKDHS allergy information is recorded in eKiDs PowerChart. Specified departments and staff enter all reported medication or substance allergies and reported food allergies. Once allergy information is entered, users with inquiry access can view the allergy detail by clicking on the **Allergies** indicator in the patient’s information bar.

Allergy Alerts This warning screen will display if a user clicks on the Allergy tab while in a patient’s chart if any medications have been ordered that have an interaction with a documented allergy for that patient. You can obtain the available data by clicking on the Drug Reference and Education Leaflet tabs on the warning screen.

Allergy Warning Preferences This warning message will display each time users select the option to view recorded allergies. Preferences can be set that will prevent allergy warnings from continuing to display once you have reviewed it at least once and click OK to close the displayed screen. To inactivate the warning for the displayed allergy in the future, select the Preferences option from Right Click menu. Click OK to close this screen Right Click in the white area of displayed Allergy Profile and select Preferences.

Allergy Warning Preferences Uncheck “Perform reverse allergy interaction checking on load” and click OK. This will prevent the warning message from redisplaying each time you select the option to open the patient’s allergy profile.

Allergy Icons

No Known Allergies No Known Allergies provides staff with access to add allergy information the ability to document allergies specific to medications.   No Known Allergies should continue to be used when the patient has no medication, food, environmental or other allergies.

No Known Medication Allergies No Known Medication Allergies should be used when the patient has no allergies that are categorized as medications (drugs), but may have allergies of other categories (including food and environmental.)
